lucy crowe joins us as vice president

Lucy Crowe, the international soprano, is joining our roster of vice presidents! She’ll sit alongside our other newcomer, Nicky Spence, and a load of other iconic figures from the world of opera like Sir John Tomlinson, Felicity Lott, Susan Bullock and Edward Gardner.

Lucy is actually already part of the wider BYO family, having done a masterclass in 2002 and then our summer programme in 2004 – check out the photos of her in The Cunning Little Vixen below.

On her appointment, Lucy said: “I’m thrilled to have been asked to become part of the BYO family. BYO was an incredibly important part of my training, bridging the gap beautifully between leaving the RAM and setting foot in the big wide world. It gave me a platform to be noticed in a role which I love, and undoubtedly helped launch my career.”

She’ll be joining us at events and on our programmes over the coming months, helping advocate for the work we do and using her experience and expertise to help young people grow their careers.
