Alumni news: Charlotte Corderoy
Conductor Charlotte has just been shortlisted for an RPS award in the young artist category – a big deal in opera and classical music world.
Charlotte joined our music staff programme in 2023, and impressed us so much she took on conducting one of our performances of Sir John in Love. The following year we asked her back to join our 2024 team as a fully-paid member of our team of professionals – she ran the music side of our summer programme and conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing The Pilgrim’s Progress.
Since then her career has really taken off – she conducted The Turn of the Screw at English National Opera last year and became assistant conductor at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Well done Charlotte, good luck at the awards.
Winners of the Royal Philharmonic Society awards are announced on Thursday 6 March at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Find out more via the Royal Philharmonic Society.
