Welcome to our new President
At tonight’s concert at St John’s Smith Square we’re properly announcing our headline soloist, Sarah Connolly, as our new President.
Sarah really is one of those once-in-a-generation performers who is both an incredible performer and an opera icon. So obviously we‘re thrilled to have her onboard, and it means so much to have her singing with us tonight to mark the occasion. She takes over as President from Felicity Lott, who’s been an important part of the BYO family for years (and we know we’ll still be seeing her around).
In her new role as President, Sarah will be flying the British Youth Opera flag wherever she goes and leading us on our mission to make a careers in opera a realistic option for everyone. We know that Sarah cares about nurturing the next generation as much as we do and we so excited to be working with her.
